morrisjs-rails's Introduction

morrisjs-rails

morris.js for the Rails Asset Pipeline

Dependency on jQuery

This library requires jQuery. If you are using Rails 5.1 or later, jQuery is not included in a new installation. You need to add jQuery to Rails by yourself.

Installation

Add this to your application's Gemfile:

gem 'morrisjs-rails'
gem 'raphael-rails'

And then execute:

$ bundle

Or install it yourself as:

$ gem install morrisjs-rails
$ gem install raphael-rails

Usage

Add the following directive to your Javascript manifest file (application.js):

//= require raphael
//= require morris

Add the following directive to your css manifest file (application.css):

 *= require morris

Add the following directive to your sass manifest file (application.scss):

 @import 'morrisjs-rails';

Versioning

The naming schema is identical to morris.js.

morrisjs-rails's Issues

Sprockets::FileNotFound - couldn't find file 'morris'

I have installed morrisjs and it was working for a while then suddenly bam and it doesn't work anymore.

application.css.sass:

//= require morris
Sprockets::FileNotFound - couldn't find file 'morris'
  (in /Users/pain/Sites/crm/app/assets/stylesheets/application.css.sass:2):

Any ideas?

ReferenceError: Can't find variable: jQuery

Hello,

I had this error after following your install instructions:

ReferenceError: Can't find variable: jQuery

The error could be solved by importing jquery.
I'm using Rails 5.1 which apparently doesn't come with jQuery by default.
Maybe you should update the install notes?

Cheers,
Björn

Update gem on rubygems

I'm upgrading my app to Rails 5.0.1 and found that morrisjs-rails was preventing bundle update to run. Adding: gem 'morrisjs-rails', github: 'beanieboi/morrisjs-rails fixed it for me. However it would be nice to have it updated in rubygems.org.

Thanks!

Compatibility with coffee-rails 4.0.0

Any plans in the near future to support coffee-rails 4.0.0?

Resolving dependencies...
Bundler could not find compatible versions for gem "coffee-rails":
In Gemfile:
morris-rails (> 0.4.9) ruby depends on
coffee-rails (
> 3.0) ruby

coffee-rails (4.0.0)
