This repository focuses on the analysis of Airbnb data in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The data was obtained from Inside Airbnb.

About the analysis

Goals

The goal of this analysis is to understand better the Airbnb market in Rio de Janeiro, one of the most touristic places in the world. The analysis is divided into two parts:

1. The first one is a general overview of the data, cleaning the data, punctuating the main characteristics of the listings, and joining some information about the neighborhoods of Rio de Janeiro.

2. The second part is a deeper analysis of the data, focusing on the price of the listings and the main characteristics that influence it. Showing some insights about the data and the market. Some visualizations are made to help the understanding of the data and show the discrepancies between the neighborhoods.

Conclusion

The analysis shows that the Airbnb market in Rio de Janeiro is very concentrated in the south zone of the city, where the most touristic places are located. The price of the listings is influenced by the neighborhood, the type of room, and the number of guests. The price is also influenced by the number of reviews and the number of days available in the year.
