Add a feed and subscribe button to blog

From a Balanced customer:

I wanted to add your guys' blog to my google reader. But when I add blog.balancedpayments.com to my reader, it can't find a link. And when I do blog.balancedpayments.com/feed/ I also don't get anything.

Do you have a feed set up?

Ember.js SF Hackathon

EmberJS has been getting lot of traction recently. Balanced is excited to tinker with the idea of a EmberJS Hackathon in their SF office. Please provide your thoughts and feedback on what you might expect going into it.

PS: Based on comment by @mahmoudimus in July Ember SF Meetup

Keep the same font sizes as the full 1020px width when you scale down to the 320px version.

Make all changes outlined in pink.

Dev talk on Balanced's platform

@mahmoudimus has graciously suggested a distributed Google Hangout to share some of Balanced's learnings about building the platform.

I thought Balanced's REST API is a great example of a truly RESTful API done right, so I'd like to learn about the design inspiration, how the data models look like behind the scene, what they did with ElasticSearch, what they liked/didn't like about it etc.

Surely I'm not alone!

Balanced should host a panel/event on cryptocurrencies

Balanced has been receiving some interest lately to discuss supporting cryptocurrencies like Dogecoin and Bitcoin more seriously. I propose we host an event to discuss the topic. This issue is to discuss logistics and planning.

EDIT: To be clear, this is more of a general cryptocurrency event than some sort of 'plan how @balanced can implement cryptocurrencies' event.

Hold a YC payments panel event

A few people on the internets have noticed a lot of competition in the payments space lately. Exhibits A, B, & C.

I thought it would be fun to get the CEOs of the 3 Bay Area-based YC payment companies on a panel together to talk payments: Matin Tamizi, Balanced; Patrick Collison, Stripe; Bill Clerico; WePay.

Event could be hosted at Balanced HQ in SOMA, SF. Some weekday evening in April or May.

Topic: "Open Business"

In his landmark book The Cathedral and the Bazaar, Eric Raymond concludes:

I expect the open-source movement to have essentially won its point about software within three to five years (that is, by 2003–2005). Once that is accomplished, and the results have been manifest for a while, they will become part of the background culture of non-programmers. At that point it will become more appropriate to try to leverage open-source insights in wider domains.

He was basically right, and projects such as Wikipedia and PLoS ONE have amply demonstrated by now that "open-source insights" can indeed be applied beyond software. Just how far can these insights extend into the products we build? Can these insights extend even further than our products into our business models themselves?
