techcommunitycalendar's Introduction

Tech Community Calendar

The Tech Community Calendar is THE place to check for upcoming events in the tech community and lists conferences, hackathons and meetups happening around the world and when live will exist at www.TechCommunityCalendar.com.

Eventually we want the site to be managed by the tech community itself so that it is ran by the community, for the commmunity.

techcommunitycalendar's Issues

Alter image used when sharing to use better dimensions

Currently, when sharing the TCC link on Twitter, the image used is not idea for sharing.. the proportions seem wrong.
Determine the correct proportions / ratio for sharing images and produce a version in those dimensions.

[feature]Add share buttons

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

I want to add some buttons to share in the different social networks.

Describe the solution you'd like

We could consider the same approach as that taken on https://codereviewchecklist.com/

image

Describe alternatives you've considered

We have made a proposal, using another project as an example, but we could divide into two tasks, a UX part and the link development part. So if you want to help you can choose between development or No-Code tasks.

[feature]Supporting dark mode

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

We would like to develop a Dark mode for the calendar.✨✨

Describe the solution you'd like

I would like to use the same approach as taken on https://codereviewchecklist.com/

image

Describe alternatives you've considered

In addition to dark mode, we could consider high contrast modes to improve accessibility.

Security Policy violation Outside Collaborators

This issue was automatically created by Allstar.

Security Policy Violation
Found 1 outside collaborators with admin access.
This policy requires users with this access to be members of the organisation. That way you can easily audit who has access to your repo, and if an account is compromised it can quickly be denied access to organization resources. To fix this you should either remove the user from repository-based access, or add them to the organization.

OR

If you don't see the Settings tab you probably don't have administrative access. Reach out to the administrators of the organisation to fix this issue.

OR

  • Exempt the user by adding an exemption to your organization-level Outside Collaborators configuration file.

This issue will auto resolve when the policy is in compliance.

Issue created by Allstar. See https://github.com/ossf/allstar/ for more information. For questions specific to the repository, please contact the owner or maintainer.

[feature]Add About page

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

We would like to add an about page, explaining the intention of the project.

Describe the solution you'd like

The ideal would be to add one more page, as is the map, but talking about the project.
imagen

Describe alternatives you've considered

We can consider two tasks, a design task and a development task.

[bug] The solution cannot be debugged without ConnectionString parameter

Describe the bug

The solution should show something without ConnectionStringParameter and work over the views.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1- Use an IDE vss/vscode
2-Run It
imagen
3-Error

Additional context

It is simply so that people who want to contribute do not have any problem.

[Bug]Events are not correctly aggregated by country

On a country page and on the map page, not all events are listed.

For example for France (https://techcommunitycalendar.com/country/france/), only Cloud Alpes is listed in upcoming events and there is no recents events. However, when we go to the city Paris in France (https://techcommunitycalendar.com/city/paris), there are 3 recent events listed, that should also be listed in France page. And when we go in Tech events in September (https://techcommunitycalendar.com/9/2023/) we can see there are different other upcoming events in France. These events are not listed in the Map page as well.

Switch Duration and EndDate field logic..

Currently each Event has a StartDate and Duration field to capture data.. with the EndDate being calculated on the fly from those..

Instead, I want to use StartDate and EndDate as fields to capture data with Duration being calculated from those.
