The Flatiron Horror Database

This app is for anyone that is passionate about movies (preferrably HORROR movies). Using this app, you can log and chronicle hidden gems and wow your friends with your giant list of frightening phantasmagoria

Requirements:

  • node version 14.15.0
  • json-server

How to use:

  1. From a terminal, fork and clone this repo from https://github.com/KyrianOnwe/phase-2-horror-movie-database.
  2. Make sure that Port 3001 is available
  3. From the repo directory in the terminal, type npm run server [do not include the single quotes if copying and pasting], press ENTER or RETURN on the keyboard. Image
  4. Open a new terminal and navigate to the clone directory.
  5. From the new terminal, type npm start, press ENTER or RETURN and proceed to the app. Image
  6. Enjoy the horror!

In the app:

  1. Add movie info via the "Add a New Flick" link. Be sure to add a jpg file url to the 'poster' input, for ease of access in the "Movies" and "Watched Movies" pages. Image
  2. After adding your information and clicking 'Submit', the movie details appears in the "Movies" page. Once movie details are added to database, they can not be easily removed so be considerate to your future, traumatized self. Image
  3. Once movie details are available in the "Movies" page, clicking (or tapping) will move the data to the "Watched Movies" page. Once a film is added to the database, it can not be easily removed.
