Password Man is a PHP based password Manager🔏 used to generate Highly secure passwords and Store them to local storage in a encrypted form. To decrypt Passwords later we use a user defined key🔑.

Time i spent making PasswordMan-

Utility:-

Password Man is used for Generating and Storing all kinds of Login credentials Securely and in Encrypted form. The user has to set a Key, this key is used for encrypting new passwords as well as for decrypting Saved Passwords. Password Man makes it easy to get all passwords by simply remembering the key, Hence making life easier. Using Google for Saving passwords is fine, But if you believe in Privacy, then A Password Manager is must.

Technologies used:-

• Frontend :- HTML,CSS & JavaScript for UI and Interaction.
• Backend :- PHP 8.1 Because PHP is ❤.

Password Man is made with PHP and the Code is maintainable which makes it Future Proof.

New Features That can be added:-

• Face Recognition.
• Fingerprint Unlock
• Cloud Deployed Version
• Desktop/Android Application.

Download & Installation:-

1. Currently PasswordMan requires a PHP server, any kind of web server will work but i prefer XAMPP, download it from there.
2. Download the latest release from GitHub repository or use this Link.
3. Configure your key in index.php file, Default key is-[ TestKey1 ].
4. Load the files, Start the server and you are ready to go, PasswordMan will be up and running on your Machine.
5. (i am working on a standalone version of passwordMan, will complete it soon.
6. for any problems or issues, create a new Github issue in issues tab.

based on the encryption techniques used in encdec.php , the further code of passwordman.php will use encryption to store all the passwords in data.txt

11/08/22 commit the single line&multiline problem was solved by simply replacing PHP_EOL with "/n" in decrypt.php now the file works as intended🥳🎉🔥.

3. All css,Script files should be insider PasswordMan.php Itself , no other file required/Necessary

Improve/Redesign the project, improve the visuals and show your creativity.

improve the existing design of index.php all other files you can improve existing files or completely redesign a new page, remember not to disturb the logic of the program.

date 09/08/22 removed Version2.php , already used essentials from it. modified script to add website,account name and Hashed passowrd to data.txt file

Decrypt.php works only if there is a single encrypted password in Data.txt, else throws error in output

the issue needs to be resolved , else the script is working as intended

fix the javascript generate button #hacktoberfest

the generate button on index.php is not stable and displaces when page is resized, fix this simple issue by editing the inline css in file, Comment for assigning and details.

10/08/22 commit added a decrypt.php page , when decypt button is pressed and correct key entered the page will redirect to a new page showing the decrypted Passwords🎉🥳.

# implemented PRG ( Post/Redirect/Get) methodology , now upon form submission , user gets redirected to saved.php page where he can see list of all stored passowrds;from the same page he can enter his key and get his keys decrypted.

1.Create a Data.txt file if used first time, if Data.txt already exists then read that file

Fix the alignment of Decrypt Passwords button.

The decrypt password button is misaligned and also displaces on scrolling.
Fix the inline css in index.php file and align the button just below save button
or add it in front of save button.

Implement use of browser alerts from phppopup.php script alerts will be used to show if file exists, its creation and contents of file.

-&&- will be used to seperate website name and the encrypted hash there will be a button on the homepage, which when clicked call a function that will decrypt all passwords

this currently works file if data.txt only contains a single encrypted hash but fails if there are more than one hash , there is need to fix the openssl_decrypt function rest is working as expected

# on the passwordman.php, it no longer shows list of stored hash, it only shows the status related to data.txt file , and now list of stored hashes can be seen on saved.php

added a button besides password input field in form, when pressed the button generates a passowrd, shows the password and then types the password in the box. button uses javascript function to generate and store. The save process works as usual, overall generate function is completed. 🥳

2. then The ui should be a Web Page with use of Forms for input for user
