Hello! My name is Ash Furrow. I'm a compassionate software developer from New Brunswick, Canada. I sing and play guitar. I run. I even like to cook.

The first ten years of my career as a software developer are publicly documented (part one, part two). The tl;dr is:

• I built iPhone apps in university, starting in 2009.
• I got a scholarship to WWDC in 2010.
• I moved around the world a bit, from Toronto to Amsterdam to New York. I spoke at a lot of conferences.
• I led Artsy's Mobile Experience team building the totally open source iOS app.
• I moved home to New Brunswick, Canada during the pandemic.
• I joined Shopify and led the Shop Minis SDK.

Currently, I'm reflected on what I'd like out of my career next. The best is yet to come!

Landing Page

Invalidate Cloudflare zone on deploys

I've added this site to Cloudflare to get SSL support but that means that we need to invalidate the CDN upon deploys through Travis. This isn't difficult, I've done it for my blog:

Add open graph + Twitter card meta tags

Consider porting view templates to slim

These templates are full of ruby logic, slim does a much better job of this

Now we may only specify email and Twitter for any questions.
In Russia, most part of peerlabs uses Telegram as the main channel of information.
Can we add one more field for it?

Order events.yml

The events.yml has grown over the time and everybody added his events at the end.
That gives as a good historical view of the events added, but makes it more difficult to find events for your city.

So why not order the events? My proposal would be to use alphabetic order of the city name, but other options would be possible (e.g. name of the country).

I could give it a try but wanted to know what the others think about it.

Can one city have more than one peer lab?

Website's info is not refreshing after successful CI/CD

There was commit quite awhile ago. But the data about peerlab location was not updated.
Seems like something wrong with CD process
