comment-reply-email-notification's Issues

Updates for GDPR Laws

It would be great add/adjust the following:

  1. Allow an option to add an additional checkbox to be added for user to consent to collecting and storing information on the form, which will be a requirement for the GDPR laws coming into effect in the EU in May. (It's a drag, but necessary)

Example:
√ I consent to mysite.com collecting and storing the information I submit in this form.

  1. Disable the "subscribe" checkbox by default, another GDPR requirement.

Example:

Thanks!! :)

French translation is broken

Hello,

Everything worked in 1.09 but since 1.10.1 French translation is broken, it displays English words instead.

Thank you !

Setting wp_mail_content_type just for emails sent by this plugin

Thanks so much for writing this plugin! It was exactly what I was looking for and replaces an older plugin that is no longer supported. I had one suggestion though. When I activated this plugin it started messing up the formatting of regular email notifications the post's author would get since those notifications were formatted to be in "text/plain" format but the plugin updated the default format to be "text/html." I was able to fix this by moving the "wp_mail_content_type" filter into the cren_comment_notification function, and then using a remove_filter call to turn it off after the email had been sent.

Allow user to disable notifications

From Wordpress.org:

Is there a way to disable email notifications if the commenter subscribes to comments? Otherwise they get two emails (which is a bit spammy) regarding the same comment.

Implement it in a per-comment and global basis.

Remove option to send e-mail after approval

Also see https://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-not-sending-e-mail-since-about-one-week/

With ea11f13 a new option was introduced to disable sending e-mail on comment approval.

However this makes no sense - if comment a approval is not needed, e-mails will always be send. And if approval is needed, it makes no sense to disable sending e-mails.

Also there is no real usecase for the original filter cren_disable_email_notification_on_comment_approval.

Subscription checkbox

Hi Guys
There is no option to disable and remove the Subscribe to comment checkbox. The word subscribe makes normal people think they have to pay. For those that do undertsnad what it means, it forces them to subscribe if they wish to comment. Not eveyone wishes to do this, or have this option showing all the time.

In wordpress all comments are held for modification and this option is not needed.
How can i prevent this option from being displayed (The same as you have the option for the new GDPR checkbox to show or hide)

Many thanks

'Notify me...' text at checkbox not translated to Dutch

On my Dutch website (NL), the text of the checkbox 'Notify me via e-mail if anyone answers my comment.' is not translated to Dutch. In the translation file I find 'Subscribe to comments', which is probably the text of an earlier version of this great plug-in. Hope you can fix this! Thank you in advance.

Subject line of the comment notification emails

From email:

I am using it but the subject line of the comment notification emails appear with a &#39 in it which I think is happening because the site title for some of the sites I am managing include the html special character codes because they are stored that way in the options table. For example on a site like Mary's Kitchen the subject line of the comment notification emails would be " Mary&#039s Kitchen " which doesn't look so nice.

Do you think it will work to add a html_entity_decode in your plugin code on the function to create the subject line to fix that? Is this something that might be an update to your plugin if it doesn't conflict with other things so I don' t have manually fix it after each update of your plugin for each site I am using it on? Thank you.

Implement display options

Implement two display options:

  • Show/hide checkbox
  • Select/deselect checkbox when the form is rendered
