A chrome extension for highlighting all occurrences of the currently selected word(s).

Notes:

• The ingenious project name has been created by Stefan
• The skeleton of the project is based on https://github.com/masarakki/chrome-extension-skelton
• Due to inexpected higher complexity of the js code further development will be based on TDD (https://jrsinclair.com/articles/2016/gentle-introduction-to-javascript-tdd-intro/).

In order to create a chrom extension follow orders in https://developer.chrome.com/webstore/publish The package to install can be created by executing pack.sh

Version changes

• 0.9 - First published version, basic functions working
• 0.10 - Excluded urls (http and ftp) as well as email address from being highlighted.

markmywords's Issues

Trim search term.

On "bigger" pages only some occurrences of a string are hit. Why?

Open some wiki page and select "is". Many hits are missed.

See if MutationObserver is viable for efficient change detection

Use characterData and oldCharacterData as described in https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/MutationObserverInit

Highlight case-insensitive

Currently case is considered. This should be changed.

Configure tests to be found in VS Code's Mocha SideBar

When selecting the introducing "In" at the beginning of the text it is put after the paragraph.
