Installation

Installing Dependencies

We will now install our needed dependencies for connecting Node JS to MongoDB and integrating JWT, We will be using Passport JWT Library for implementing JSON Web Token and Mongoose for our connection.

Passport and JWT - Dependencies

$ npm install @nestjs/passport @nestjs/jwt passport passport-local passport-strategy --save

Passport - Dev dependencies

$ npm install @types/passport-jwt @types/passport-local --save-dev

$ npm i passport-jwt

MongoDB - Dependencies

@nestjs/mongoose

mongoose

$ npm install @nestjs/mongoose mongoose --save

Encryption - Dependencies

bcrypt

$ npm install bcrypt --save

$ npm install

Running the app

# development
$ npm run start

# watch mode
$ npm run start:dev

# production mode
$ npm run start:prod

Test

# unit tests
$ npm run test

# e2e tests
$ npm run test:e2e

# test coverage
$ npm run test:cov
