Lab #5 bmin value

Hello,

How do you determine bmin in lab 5 in question 3? The question is unclear.

Different blocks

There are blocks on MATLAB and the ppt are a little different what should I do?

the first 2 are from the matlab and the last 2 from ppt

Lab 4

What value of Kmotor should be used from Lab 3 to calculate the required values in lab 4 ?

Mass=0

For the mass = 0, the Gain 1/M is not possible if M=0. Does that mean I eliminate the Mass Gain in my simulink in order Question #3 from Exercise 1.1 from the Lab. Is the same step done for Question #3 for the simscape exercise?

Experimental results pont 4

It requires us to find the Reynolds’s number with the given formula, but the formula requires a fluid velocity (v). I’m not sure how to find this value. Is it the q max?

lab6

Hi, is there no simulink file to submit for lab 6? Also, the simscape simulation can all be zipped once submitted? Thank you.

Lab #4 Km Value for Omega_n

Since the Km value depends on our Kp and we have two Kp values, do we use seperate Kp values or an average of both in order to find the theoretical Omega (w_n).

Lab 3 Questions

I just had a question in the results for lab 3.

Is the viscous damping B, 2.8 oz-in/krpm (1.9e-4N-m-s)?

Lab 3 part 2 table

I’m not sure how to find the motor angular velocity. I end up with values that don’t seem to make sense. I took the value from the Back-EMF constant (either [V/krpm] or [V/rad/s]) and get values around 1560rpm or 164rad/s. I’m dividing the Tacho Ch2 voltage with the constants on the spec sheet. Am I using the wrong values in my equation?

Also what exactly is the motor constant? I don’t really understand which values would give us a constant.

Lab #6

For Discussion #3 is Wn the Peak or Trough (Depending on BRF or BPF? Then we Divide Wn by the difference of W_c1 and W_c2 which is the Radian Frequencies at which M = 0.707?

Also is Q = W_n X CR for this Picture?

Lab 5, units

Are the displacement values taken during the lab in mm, cm or m?

The data we have is in volts, but what's the conversion? Is it 1V=1m, or 1 V= 1 cm?

scope problem

I built the model as shown for the simscape but the scope doesn't seem to display anything. What is wrong with the code?
R=2.04;
L=1.49e-3;
J=2.8e-6;
B=1.9e-4;
Kb=1.94e-2;
KT=1.94e-2;
Kp=7.094;
sim('Simscapelab4v3');

Lab 6_Simscape graphs

Hello,
For lab 6 Simscape how many graphs do we need for each circuit: LPF, Single Section RC, and Double Resonance?
I mean in the ppt file they show 5 graphs for the frequencies of 1KHz, 5, 10,15, and 20Khz for each circuit. So do we need only one plot at 1KHz or 5 plots for 5 different frequencies?

lab 1.1

How do I change my code in order to get the diplacement/velocity graph in section 1.1 with respect to the position? Do I need to change the code to get only one B value instead of the first graph that we got?

Question about Simscape simulation for Lab2

When following the steps provided in the PPT for simscape in lab 2, the graph generated does not resemble the one shown in the slides. We cannot find the issue or a way to fix the graph. Thanks for your help.

Lab 4 Simscape

Hello, I made Simscape as specified in the PowerPoint file, but there is an issue related to units. As the model consists of the portion of lab 3 Simscape, the input unit is rad/sec and the output is in degrees. I tried my best but still I have a problem. Could you please help?

Lab 6 Questions

For this lab the units are given in microfarads and microhenries, do we have to convert to farads and henries? Also is the resistance 22 ohms?
