ansible-roles's Introduction

Ansible Roles:

This repo contains all the Ansible roles that I've written to perform my day-to-day system administration and automation tasks.

Note: Be very careful to run these roles directly to the Production, please first try them on the Testing Environment before using them to Production.

Requirements:

We need Ansible software to be installed in order to use these roles, means Roles can be run from any machine that have Ansible installed on.

Here are the steps to install the Ansible on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS:

sudo apt-add-repository -y ppa:ansible/ansible
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install -y ansible

To use any Role:

Edit the hosts file, enter the server ip/name on which you want to deploy the role(s). Then modify the site.yml file, mentioned the role that you want to use and then run this command:

ansible-playbook -i hosts -u arbab site.yml

Note: Please don't forget to change arbab with your username

ansible-roles's Issues

How to run all the playbooks

Hi Arbab,

I am new to this ansible and going through your playbooks. I have created all the files listed in it and how to run the playbook now.

eg: you have three playbooks in three different directories, how do i call all the playbooks in order to run main.yml

LEMP provisioning on the same machine

Hi, rather than on another server, what would inventory and main, yml look like if I wanted to provision on the local/native OS?

I am on Ubuntu fwiw.

Thanks
