AnsPress is an open source, developer friendly, question and answer plugin for WordPress. AnsPress adds a full question and answer system to your existing WordPress site. It can be used to create a Q&A network similar to StackOverflow and Quora, or be a single page on existing site. The plugin supports multiple languages, shortcodes, reCAPTCHA, email and push notifications, and more.

AnsPress is not just limited to questions and answers. It can be used in many different ways, like a bug tracker, an internal Q&A board, support ticket forum, FAQ, and more. Anspress is trusted and used by many popular companies and sites at scale.

Adding support for UserPro

Hi there,

Im using a great user management plugin called UserPro (http://codecanyon.net/item/userpro-user-profiles-with-social-login/5958681) and it offers great stuff to enhance profiles.

Just a example:
You could create achievements which can be earned by users, for example by giving 20 answers.

Can you please add support for this plugin?

Does not work with /%category%/%postname% slug

Translation File

I can know that AnsPress support custom themes. The translation is mostly used in default theme of AnsPress. But the translation files are made for whole plugin. All themes use the same one, though at this time, there is only one theme.

When I want to translate AnsPress, how should I treat different themes? There may be other themes with different UI text in future. Or I just translate for the default theme, and other themes must use the same text to display.

Doult about some files

1. theme/default/part/question.php - it sames a part of theme TwentyTwelve for post and use twentytwelve translation?
2. theme/default/login.php - it contains many translation of "askme". Is it still in use? Or should be replaced by "ap"?
3. include/posts.php - translation name is "answerpress", but in other files is "ap". Which one is right?

Permalink problem with AnsPress menu

If I don't use permalink, the menu link created for "Ask" is http://example.com/?page_id=40&ap_page=ask . This is OK.

But when I use permalink, the menu link created for "Ask" is http://example.com/questions/&ap_page=ask . This link will be redirected to http://example.com/questions/ . The correct link is http://example.com/questions/?ap_page=ask.

I think we can use a special menu that can generate correct link even if users change between permalink type again and again.

The same with "Question Category" and "Question Tags" menu items.

This plugin will become a great one. I like it.

Add a "New Question" button to the main page, also if no question is available

Wordpress Error: You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page

This error appears to be common, as it arose with: sagar.atalatti, KTS915, sundev, steve53990, and now me. Anspress has completely broken my WordPress install, and I now cannot access my wp-admin login page, or the admin sections of my site as a whole.

Please post a fix here for this issue.

Your prior thread (https://wordpress.org/support/topic/you-do-not-have-sufficient-permissions-to-access-this-page-209?replies=12) indicates that it has been resolved. Please share the resolution with us and please implement it into the code of Anspress.

It's really not fair that we should download your plugin, only to break our installations. Even a free plugin should refrain from that. It's even less fair that you have not shared your resolution for this completely destructive bug.

Incorrect time reported on question page

If I open a question, the time reported for when the question was asked and any answer provided always shows as "about 2 months ago".

The time is correctly reported on the base page where all the questions are listed.

The problem seems to be in both question.php and answer.php, neither of which are picking up the date correctly.
