Configuration:

Your build environemnt has been configured with:

    MACHINE=cyclone5
    SDKMACHINE=x86_64
    DISTRO=angstrom

You can now run 'bitbake <target>'

Some of common targets are:
    console-image
    systemd-gnome-image
    xfce-nm-image
    development-xfce-image
    development-gnome-image

This also happens with angstrom-v2017.06-yocto2.3

altera-opensource/meta-altera is missing?

Hello,
I'm attempting to follow the guide on RocketBoards to build kernal and rootfs for the CycloneV dev kit. When this string is entered:

repo init -u git://github.com/Angstrom-distribution/angstrom-manifest -b angstrom-v2019.06-warrior

followed by: repo sync,

I eventually get this error:

error: Cannot fetch altera-opensource/meta-altera from https://github.com/altera-opensource/meta-altera

Does this mean that meta_altera has been moved? If so, where would it be and how would I point to it in the process of going through the guide?

Thank you!

Tim

Angstrom build fails due to repo tool error

I noticed yesterday that my distro, which I forked from angstrom, stopped building. Vanilla Angstrom now has the same problem:

My guess is that the repo tool was updated to enforce the condition listed here: "Copying from paths outside of the project or to paths outside of the repo client is not allowed."

Feed server issue

Hi, opkg doesn't work for me. It cannot access the feed servers for some reason.
Also, when I try to access http://www.angstrom-distribution.org/ from my browser, it doesn't work neither (I have a timeout).

Any idea why?

(Angstrom v2014.12)

Thanks ;)

setup-environment default BUILDDIR is fragile

If I do

MACHINE=mymachine source setup-environment

inside my script, which was passed positional parameters, then setup-environment-internal sees the $* and $1 variables set and thinks the positional parameter was passed to setup-environment. So I have to explicitly do

MACHINE=mymachine source setup-environment "."

which I did not have to do with sumo.

building Angstrom dunfell

Is there an angstrom-v2020.06-dunfell branch missing from this repo (or coming soon) to support building Angstrom 2020.06 from meta-angstrom?

Feed server?

Hello there,

I've installed 'The Angstrom Distribution socfpga ttyS0' v2014.12 for my de-10 nano chipset. It works great, but when I've tried to run opkg update unfortunately all I get is:

'Downloading http://feeds.angstrom-distribution.org/feeds/v2014.12/ipk/...'
'wget: error getting response: Connection reset by peer'

I have no idea what this means. I tried to follow the links up in my browser, but it couldn't resolve the hostname. Did you take your feeds.angstrom server down? Is there a new feed server? What even is a feed server?

Thanks,
Matt

angstrom-v2017.12-rocko fails

Hi,

When building the console-image or any other image on the rocko branch, I get the following error:
Error: ParseError at layers/meta-backports/core/recipes-connectivity/iproute2/iproute2_4.17.0.bb:1: Could not include required file iproute2.inc

The mentioned file exists: layers/openembedded-core/meta/recipes-connectivity/iproute2/iproute2.inc
When I check the bblayers.conf file, it has the directory layers/openembedded-core/meta for BBLAYERS.

Any idea on why this seems to go wrong?

Kind regards,

Jan

image_types_uboot missing?

Hi,

I am new to bitbake as well as to angstrom, but I tried the following ...

mkdir angstrom && cd angstrom
repo init -u git://github.com/Angstrom-distribution/angstrom-manifest
repo sync
MACHINE=cyclone5 . ./setup-environment
bitbake world

... and ended up with

ERROR: ParseError at /home/christian/Development/fpga/DE0/angstrom/layers/meta-linaro/meta-linaro/recipes-linaro/images/linaro-image-minimal-initramfs.bb:39: Could not inherit file classes/image_types_uboot.bbclass

Here is the config output:

Your build environemnt has been configured with:

    MACHINE=cyclone5
    SDKMACHINE=x86_64
    DISTRO=angstrom

You can now run 'bitbake <target>'

Some of common targets are:
    console-image
    systemd-gnome-image
    xfce-nm-image
    development-xfce-image
    development-gnome-image

Also bitbake console-image gives me the same error.

setup-environment can't handle paths with spaces

From my jenkins logs:

Looks like it needs to either always use straight quotes or escape it.

How to add local recipes

If i add a local recipes directory like i used to; repo sync will complain about un-commited changes.

revision of the kraj/meta-altera

The revision of kraj/meta-altera project in the angstrom-v2015.12-yocto2.0 branch specified in the manifest file is from July 6th last year.
Is there any reason not to update it? I'm asking because it is missing the component I would like to use.

Building angstrom-v2015.12-yocto2.0 is getting failed

I followed the steps written in the below link,

I landed up with the following issues

bump meta-sunxi

i just fixed a build problem in meta-sunxi so it should be bumped to latest master (8a9c1d688c80f21c28836e7fa3e8f945ca84927b) or, better, use the just-created fido branch

socfpga-sdimg and Deprecated variable(s) found: "IMAGE_DEPENDS_socfpga-sdimg"

Hi,

I was following this description: https://rocketboards.org/foswiki/Documentation/GSRDCompilingLinux and created a local.conf which includes

MACHINE="cyclone5"
KERNEL_PROVIDER = "linux-altera-ltsi"
KERNEL_TAG = "refs/tags/ACDS18.1_REL_GSRD_PR"
KBRANCH = "socfpga-4.9.78-ltsi"
BB_ENV_EXTRAWHITE="$BB_ENV_EXTRAWHITE KBRANCH KERNEL_TAG UBOOT_TAG KERNEL_PROVIDER"
UBOOT_CONFIG = "cyclone5-socdk"
LINUX_TEST_REPO="http://git.rocketboards.org/linux-test"
IMAGE_FSTYPES += "socfpga-sdimg"

I am also using http://releases.rocketboards.org/release/2018.05/gsrd/src/altera.xml in my .repo/local_manifests/.

I am getting the following errors:

ERROR: ...../angstrom-manifest-2018/layers/meta-linaro/meta-linaro/recipes-linaro/images/linaro-sysroot-alip.bb: Deprecated variable(s) found: "IMAGE_DEPENDS_socfpga-sdimg". Use do_image_<type>[depends] += "<recipe>:<task>" instead

Which seems to be caused by my socfpga-sdimg selection.

Are there incompatibilities between some layers?
