Add a function which returns the Bell numbers (OEIS A000110).
FLINT provides some functions in a much better and faster implementation than those here, it'd be a nice possible addition to Catalan.
Tagging Catalan's project description as deprecated would be a nice convenience for folks browsing packages in the 'Julia Package Listing'.
PackageEvaluator.jl is a script that runs nightly.
It attempts to load all Julia packages and run their tests (if available) on both the stable
version of Julia (0.3) and the nightly build of the unstable version (0.4).
The results of this script are used to generate a package listing
enhanced with testing results. This service also benefits package developers by notifying them if
their package breaks for some reason (caused by e.g. changes in Julia, changes in dependencies,
or broken binary dependencies.)
Currently PackageEvaluator attempts to find your test scripts using a heuristic, preferring the
standarized test/runtests.jl
whenever present. Using test/runtests.jl
allows people to test
your package using simply Pkg.test("Catalan")
, with any testing-only dependencies being
installed by looking at test/REQUIRE
.
Your package doesn't appear to have a test/runtests.jl
file. PackageEvaluator is going to move
away from auto-detecting tests and will instead only test packages with a test/runtests.jl
file. This change will take place in about a month.

As described in https://discourse.julialang.org/t/ann-plans-for-removing-packages-that-do-not-yet-support-1-0-from-the-general-registry/ we are planning on removing packages that do not support 1.0 from the General registry. This package has been detected to not support 1.0 and is thus slated to be removed. The removal of packages from the registry will happen approximately a month after this issue is open.
To transition to the new Pkg system using Project.toml
, see https://github.com/JuliaRegistries/Registrator.jl#transitioning-from-require-to-projecttoml.
To then tag a new version of the package, see https://github.com/JuliaRegistries/Registrator.jl#via-the-github-app.
If you believe this package has erroneously been detected as not supporting 1.0 or have any other questions, don't hesitate to discuss it here or in the thread linked at the top of this post.
libgsl provides some functionality for generating permutations which are currently wrapped in GSL.jl (although not terribly cleanly at the moment). I'm toying with the idea of providing a Permutation type in GSL.jl that would abstract the low-level GSL calls, or whether that should live in Catalan.jl. Thoughts?

This issue was filed because your testing status became worse. No additional issues will be filed if your package remains in this state, and no issue will be filed if it improves. If you'd like to opt-out of these status-change messages, reply to this message saying you'd like to and @IainNZ will add an exception. If you'd like to discuss PackageEvaluator.jl please file an issue at the repository. For example, your package may be untestable on the test machine due to a dependency - an exception can be added.

Can the scope of this package be extended to accommodate some computations to deal with Young tableaux and diagrams? Strictly speaking it seems that these might lie outside the scope of enumerative combinatorics. I've already written some code for my own purposes but it seems more natural to put these into the combinatorics package rather than embed them in RandomMatrices.jl.
