Just a little bot who tells you when the Internaional Space Station will next pass over a given set of coordinates.

What it does

It uses the open-notify API to figure out when the ISS will next pass over the coordinates you give it.

How to use it

To use the script, in terminal, navigate to the folder where you've saved it and enter: python3 iss-noti.py

Right now, the script only accepts lattitude and longitude coordinates. All given times are in UTC.

Allow place names as input

Allow someone to input a place name instead of coordinates.

to-dos

• accept place name input
• convert place name to lat & long
• pass lat & long to the function
• (bonus) allow a zip code

Allow custom number of forecasted pass-over dates

Allow the user to specify how many pass-over dates they want to see.

Currently, the bot will show 5 pass-over dates. This doesn't look great and might be too much info.

to-dos

• figure out time zones, conceptually, outside of computers
• figure out time zones, conceptually, on the computer
• ask the user for a time zone, OR allow it to be passed as an argument when running the script
