tor-browser's Issues

Add in a pre-commit hook

Add in a pre-commit hook that checks whether the correct mozconfig is present and not the android one that is used for testing.
I've had multiple occasions where I've had to change the commit after a push.

Wrong version reporting to addon site

I have latest orfox but when I want to install an addon which compatible is with firefox 52.2 (latest orfox) it says "This add-on requires a newer version of Firefox (at least version 48.0). You are using Firefox 38.0"

Improve build instructions

The current README directs users to the Fennec build instructions, but this is not the right way to build. I completely missed the existence of .mozconfig-android until it was pointed out to me :P

As this is based on TBB and uses its conventions, the build process for TBB should be documented so that Orfox builders can do so without needing to seek outside assistance.

Orfox does not save passwords

I run Orfox 52.9/7.5 on Huawei P10 Lite (Android 7.0)
When accessing a site that requires login/password, upon successful login it displays "Store this password?" prompt, and I select Yes.
It won't ask anything if I reload the page or browse anything else and then open that website again.
However, it always asks for login/password if I close the app by selection Quit and then restart it, which means that "Store this password" question pretty useless as it spans only over one browsing session and is not permanent.
I have no such issues when accessing the very same website using Tor Browser on my Mac.
I have unchecked Clear private data on exit in Settings, and checked Remember logins checkbox.
Settings -> Manage logins page is always empty.

I believe Orfox should store login credentials beyond a session if I ask it to.

Use Incognito Keyboard API

It's no guarantee that a keyboard will respect or be aware of the IME_FLAG_NO_PERSONALIZED_LEARNING flag, but I think it would be in line with the spirit of Tor to minimize the traces that a user leaves on their system when using Orfox.

I know at least that the widely popular keylogger Gboard respects this API.
