clojoban's Issues

UX: Endgame screen

An endgame screen should be shown upon game completion. Remember players to come back for more levels/updates!

Idea: create "dummy" level upon loading.

BACKEND: Cross-site cookies

Idea: alternate (optional) IP session mechanism (avoiding cross-site cookies)

  • Resort to it as a fall-back mechanism?
  • Do not print anything until session is up? Then, two images (one blank.)

BACKEND: Client needs REFERER header enabled

Since Clojoban parses the REFERER header from HTTP requests to determine the selected action, it has to be enabled in the users' browser.

Some people disable this feature for privacy reasons, so remotely-embedded Clojoban won't work for them.

WILL NOT FIX. It's part of the puzzle approach.

UX: Don't show non-loaded image

When reloading/acting on frontpage, the webpage is rendered for a bit without the image. Looks like flickering and is a bit annoying.

BACKEND: Multi-theming

Action (or maybe URL part) to switch between installed themes. Save in session or depends of URL directly?

BACKEND: Cache control

No cache control is active, so performance is poor (due to jQuery request.) Might move request to jQuery's server anyways.

UI: Random tiles

  • Maybe I shouldn't index images by filename (index by parent directory?)
  • May move tiles out of clojoban.ui

BACKEND: External config file

Enable a external config file for the framework (ala-Lein.) This issue might become obsolote before reached due to heavy refactors.

CODE: Reload images

Resources should be reloaded if updated too (by reloading their namespace.) Adds design comfort.

Level 3 is too large for SO -profile

I played until level 3 but it is too large for SO -profile. Levels must be smaller or buttons must be at the top or the screen must move in according to the player. Ideas to fix this?

UI: HUD

A HUD must be shown around the game canvas.

  • Set custom font
  • Border around game?
  • Border/tabs around bars?

UX: Finish front website

  • Minimalistic (but appealing) design.
  • Make sure W3C validates both HTML and CSS.
  • Images for buttons.
  • Add some text or refer to README?
