Panels allow cross-patching of channels.

Support diodes for insertion into wires/cables for configuring signal to only flow in one direction.

amplifier/attenuator

Provide blocks to alter signal strength.

jacks

RJ45 jacks.

• Jacks accept cat5
• Jacks emit signal out a rotatable side
• Jack ui allows optional channel selection

computercraft peripheral

Support integration with computercraft by crafting a peripheral from a patch panel.

Actually function as a redstone wire.

• Receive and relay the signal down the wire
• Attenuate signal as it progresses down wires
• Emit the signal to neighboring non-wire blocks
• Glow when signal is carried

logic circuits

Allow for the creation of logic gates that may be used to alter redstone circuits.

An OR gate is the inherent behavior of the original patch panel, so is unnecessary.

research bc3 gates

It would be amazing if we could tap into the BC gate hooks for machine state somehow. Investigate how this system works.

low resistance wire

Differentiate between wire/cable made from low resistance materials vs those made from high resistance materials.

High resistance wire will have a signal strength of only 16m (or 32m for insulated). Low resistance wire will have a signal strength of 32m (or 64m for insulated).

toggle cable

A cable with an integrated switch that a player may manually toggle.

toggle jacks

An RJ45 jack that will toggle its emission state when receiving a redstone pulse from a non-cat5 input.

This allows a setup where an insulated cable breaks out before the jack and connects to its side - thus allowing one channel to toggle the emission of another out the jack.

pulse generator

Create a programmable clock that emits directed redstone pulses on a configurable delay.

insulation

Handle insulated wires.

• Only receive-emit from endpoints
• Do not connect to different channel wires
• Do connect to un-insulated single pair
• Halve the signal loss over insulated wire

cat5 cable

The original bundled cable.

• Support EIA standard (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TIA/EIA-568-B)
• Support arbitrary colors
• Connect to appropriately colored insulated wire
• Do not connect to un-insulated wire
