ubunto compiling error about gimp-plugin-morphop

Most likely my mistake. I fail to incorporate your morphology filters into Gimp on Ubuntu 12.
After calling "make" it says:
(..)
/usr/bin/gimptool-2.0
/usr/bin/ld: cannot open output file ./bin/morphop: No such file or directory

Indeed, there is no /bin directory besides /src, which I expected "make" would have created.
I called "make" from terminal, starting in the same tmp directory where I unpacked "makefile", ".gitattributes" and full "/src" including c-files and their headers.

Ubuntu told me libgimp2.0 2.8.4-1ubuntu1 was already installed, but not gimptools. Then I found libgimp2-headers "Headers and other files for compiling plugins for GIMP libgimp2", approx 100 MByte, which seems to have included gimptool-2.0.
I can launch gimptool, but "make" does not make binary files.

You are talking about libgimp2.0, but not libgimp2.0-dev (http://packages.ubuntu.com/precise/libgimp2.0-dev)
Please double check if you really have that package.

Thanks for help. "libgimp2.0-dev" is installed (it is described as "Headers and other files for compiling plugins for GIMP libgimp2"). I had expected "make" would have had created some files which "ld" would have processed.
