SmartMap

An application designed to help visually impaired individuals navigate their world. The goal of this project is to create a more invisible experience for visually impaired individuals so that they can be empowered and able to do more.

To be a part of this project and submit code or ideas:

  1. Fork the repository to your own space.
  2. Work on your contributions.
  3. Submit a pull request with an explaination of the additions or changes you have made. The pull request will be reviewed and hopefully implemented.

Application Functionality

  • Determine and notify if user has reach a street corner.

Possible Other Functions

  • Determine the composition of an intersection and relay the information to the user.
  • Activate a walk signal via Bluetooth.
  • Determine which corner the user is on and indicate this information to them.
