The installer is super hacked. Being this was written in the CakePHP framework, the installer really needs to be ported over to meet the proper CakePHP code standards.

One does not exist!

No failures exist. If sql query fails it does not fail, it continues with the process, same with PHP/MySQL version checking, and other Cake checks.

This will require the administration area for the admin

This will be true if there is 1 or more pastes, other wise index will redirect to add action.

no .htaccess can cause problems. Performing a manual installation, the .htaccess file can be lost. A generator for this during the installation sounds like a good solution. At least look into it.

It currently works inside using CakePHP as part of the application It needs to be outside in it's own directory for better management. This will allow us to better manage processes specific to the installation itself. Such as installation, upgrades, as well as security by allowing the removal of the install directory. We will need it to generate the .htaccess for us as well, as it will cause problems with actually getting to the install folder.
