Path to Forest Path blocked "You can't go that way."

I think I found a bug.

I tried these opening commands and it wouldn't let me go north:

West of House
You are standing in an open field west of a white house, with a boarded front door.
There is a small mailbox here.

>go north
North of House
You are facing the north side of a white house. There is no door here, and all the windows are boarded up. To the north a narrow path winds through the trees.

>go north
You can't go that way.

I checked this emulator of Zork1 and this route should lead to the 'Forest Path'.
