webrtc-leak-prevent's Introduction

WebRTC Leak Prevent

Version 1.0.14 | May 9 2018

WebRTC Leak Prevent provides user control over WebRTC privacy settings in Chromium that have no native GUI. The intended use of the extension is to prevent WebRTC leaks.

The only required permissions are 'privacy' and 'storage'.

How it works

In Chromium version 48+, the extension provides user control over webRTCIPHandlingPolicy, defaulting to default_public_interface_only.

In older versions of Chromium, legacy options are supported. This includes webRTCMultipleRoutesEnabled for Chromium version 42 - 47, and webRTCNonProxiedUdpEnabled for Chromium version 47.

Whitelist

Provide a whitelist for exceptions.

Dropdown does not work on touch screens.

I would like to use your extension in the kiwi browser but unfortunately when I try to open the dropdown to change the settings it doesn't work.
Hopefully you can do something about it. Greetings.

WebRTC Protection Detected

Hi Guys,

Im facing the issue that the sites I visit are detecting the extension and result in that my browser is still blocked.

image

I tried renaming the extension, chaning the icon etc. All not working. Any one an idea how I can fix this? Im running on a proxy so I used that option as well.

Start with pre-set option.

Hello,

Is there a way to have the default option be disable_non_proxied_udp ?
I'm using this extension with selenium and handling options for extensions can be a pit of a pain.

So I was wondering if I could edit the source to have default option set to disable_non_proxied_udp and zip it back up for use in Selenium.

Thanks in advance.

Erratic and sometimes do NOT prevent WebRTC leak

It seems that, this extension do not really work. I wonder, how come an update extension do not work!!! Do not prevent WebRTC leak...when I installed, it sometimes work though. However, after few days, I started to notice that, not working. Again, deleted and reinstalled, working again. But few days later, not working again.

Timezone override option

Hello,

It would be nice if subject will be implemented in your awesome Opera extension to prevent client's browser timezone leak.

Example: You're living in US and using an VPN-endpoint in Netherlands. It will be possible to detect country you're coming from because of endpoint IP location and your browser timezone mismatch.

easy on/off

There are situations in which this plugin breaks the WebRTC functionality. Eg. in the university prevalent eduroam network (tested with this: https://pguth.github.io/peermesh/). It would be good to indicate the state via the extensions icon and allow it to be switched on and off there.
