notem's Issues

Addition of new themes

@aditya-singh9 You can choose the colors or I could add these
hfcolors

I've gotten familiar with the code and have started working on it, so please assign this to me

contributing.md file missing

According to hacktoberfest guidelines a contributing.md file should be there for projects which are participating in hacktoberfest.
Please assign this issue to me...

Font switcher

Add a font switch option, maybe to something more readable. I can work on this right after I finish up the peristaltic theme

Theme not persistant

The current theme is not synced like the notes are, across closing and reopening the tab

Adding a how to use column

I think adding a how to use column will make the website more user-friendly.
Also adding a navbar would help a lot.
If you think this feature is worth adding, please assign this issue to me.
Thank You.

The console should be cleared and the close part should have some indications

Some messages appear in a console when a user interacts with the app, and they can be removed.
In order for the user to know it is a part where they can click to delete the note, the close container should have some sort of indication of closing. I would like to solve this issue as part of hacktoberfest, please assign it to me.

Title hidden on different fonts

make font sizes according to the fonts.
on the notes section too, their is big fonts which leads to less content in one board.

Navbar

Would like to contribute to add Top navbar where we can add name of the app and GitHub logo link to github page

Can we setup a proper dev server with npm using vite?

Currently, in development, there is no proper env. If a dev doesn't have some sort of live server installed on their machine they would have to refresh the page again and again or even if they have all of them won't have one kind of server.

We can use vite which allows us to use HMR and is super easy to use.

Selecting color changes color for all notes, not just one being created.

I'm noticing that color selection changes the color of all existing notes.

For usability, I'm wondering if there are two new changes to be made:

  1. Selecting a color changes the color of only newly created notes. This allows users to sort notes by color for different purposes or general organization.
  2. Already posted notes have some sort of color change functionality, perhaps on the note itself.

I could see something along the lines of below. Some design changes would potentially need to consider smaller sized notes so that colored selectors don't overlap with boundaries of note border.
notes marker

Navbar links

Maybe adding footer with some links to github repo etc. would be nice.
If accepted im ready to work on this case

Add a favicon to the website

Since there is no favicon currently we can put one there.
This issue is opened under Hacktoberfest 2022.
I would like to work on this issue.

Not obvious how to start using the app

When you first load Notem, there are only the 4 dots to change themes on the screen, and I genuinely had no idea how to create a note, because it's usually done with a button. I suggest adding a label that tells the user to click and drag to create a note, and the label would disappear after the first note was created. Also maybe a "select theme" label could be added to signify what the dots are for.
I could take on implementing this suggestion.
