Feedback on testing 2023-02-09

  • Tab function
  1. In tracking > Timesheet: I usual am able to use tab to select an item which was highlighted. It would selected it and go to the next field. Now when I click tab it brings me to the comment field without selecting what I was on.
  2. In Analysis > right side bar: same as above
  3. In Projects: same as above
  • Reject feature
  1. In Analysis > State: I don't really like that "rejected" is on top. I don't think it will be the most frequently used parameter. In the way I used Timed (and I'm only speaking for myself) I use Billability and Verfied in the fast majority of cases. the others not so much.
  2. In Analysis: I went to verify entries I created, I was able to verify, but wasn't able to reject anything (it was always grayed out)
  • Remaining effort feature: I tested with 10 entries and while the duration kept updating at each new entry, the remaining effort stayed stuck on 30 (regardless if the new effort was above or below)
    image

image

In addition the duration included billable and not billable work. Not sure if that's how it should be or not.

  • Budget check timed bot: couldn't test

Hope this is clear enough.

Feat: "magic links"

It would be cool if we could have magic links, ie I can select something in timed, have a btn that I can click which generates me a link which, when sent to somebody, will create a new entry under "Timesheet" where they just have to enter the hours and text.

This could be extended where I can even specify the time and text when creating the magic link. The person just has to click the link and press save.

White Screen: Ember app breaks when backend data is missing

If a plain without employments etc. is logged in, the ember app goes rogue and even trashes the browser because of some crash loop.

add icon for customer visibilty

Some projects are marked as customer visible and comments from these projects are visible for the customer.
Right now timed users don't know whether a comment is visible for the customer or not.
I propose to add an icon at the end of the comment field to show that feature.
Additionally I would add a hover-hint to explain the icon.

Is there a better solution or a different approach to that? Any suggestions?

Version 10 of node.js has been released

Version 10 of Node.js (code name Dubnium) has been released! 🎊

To see what happens to your code in Node.js 10, Greenkeeper has created a branch with the following changes:

  • Added the new Node.js version to your .travis.yml
  • The new Node.js version is in-range for the engines in 1 of your package.json files, so that was left alone

If you’re interested in upgrading this repo to Node.js 10, you can open a PR with these changes. Please note that this issue is just intended as a friendly reminder and the PR as a possible starting point for getting your code running on Node.js 10.

More information on this issue

Greenkeeper has checked the engines key in any package.json file, the .nvmrc file, and the .travis.yml file, if present.

  • engines was only updated if it defined a single version, not a range.
  • .nvmrc was updated to Node.js 10
  • .travis.yml was only changed if there was a root-level node_js that didn’t already include Node.js 10, such as node or lts/*. In this case, the new version was appended to the list. We didn’t touch job or matrix configurations because these tend to be quite specific and complex, and it’s difficult to infer what the intentions were.

For many simpler .travis.yml configurations, this PR should suffice as-is, but depending on what you’re doing it may require additional work or may not be applicable at all. We’re also aware that you may have good reasons to not update to Node.js 10, which is why this was sent as an issue and not a pull request. Feel free to delete it without comment, I’m a humble robot and won’t feel rejected πŸ€–

Indicator for unverified reports

Currently, we send mails if a reviewer has to verify the reports of the last month. This can easily be overlooked which results in unverified reports.

To improve this process we should display an indicator in the UI if the user has reports to verify. This indicator should directly link to the verify page of the last month.

Budget check timed bot - not working

Hi @trowik

You and I worked together to link this test project and Customer "Partners Group > Rafaela Testing".

Having logged 31% of hours on Feb 9th, this should have triggered the alert, but I do not see any email in my inbox or any text description in the ticket. Not sure where it went wrong.

Start tracking (activities) from anywhere

I'd like to use active tracking more using activities, but often it's not convenient anymore. It would help if we could have a button / link anywhere a task is shown to start tracking it. Possibly, it could be combined with #681 in some way: Show a modal / dialog / menu to start an activity or create a tracking record.

We already sorta have this in the activities view, but we can only start tracking activities if we did so before. I'd just like to have the ability to do so from more places than just that view

Reject reports

A reviewer has to have the ability to reject a report in case he doesn't know to which customer/project/task that report should belong to.

What's needed:

  • a "reject" checkbox in the report edit view in analysis
    • this checkbox should only be active if the user is reviewer
  • an icon in the top right corner to inform the user whether he has rejected reports (similar to "needs review" icon)
  • a "rejected" filter for reports

Bugs in new timed release

Timesheet

  • This got fixed while i was testing (see adfinis/timed-backend#928)
    • Creating a new report does not work, the problem seems to be, that remaining-effort is null
      • {"errors":[{"detail":"This field may not be null.","status":"400","source":{"pointer":"/data/attributes/remaining-effort"},"code":"null"}]}
    • The same applies to changing a reports customer/project/task (i tested this on reports created using the generate timesheet button)
  • Rescheduling
    • When rescheduling a day with verified events, it works, but you get this error message: image
      • this also applies to the current timed.
      • the diagram (weekly-overview) also does not update, even though the timesheet was rescheduled, after a refresh/switching to another day/pressing the save button again the diagram updates

Absences

  • After adding one or multiple absences they are not displayed until a refresh/switching day
  • After removing an absence, when trying to create a new absence (on the same day), the current day is selected and disabled, and therefore cannot be deselected.

Analysis

  • When sorting the Total time changes to 0 and then back. It does always stay the same since its the total.

Activities

  • The record-button has no icon
  • In the "Activities contain unknown tasks" modal the "thats fine" button is missing the margin right
    • test: image
    • normal: image

Fetching each project individually on the analysis page

We have an issue on our test aks, projects are being fetched on the analysis page, which results in numerous GET-request that slow down/crush the app.
This occurs only on our test aks and we couldn't reproduce it locally yet.
