Smcroute

A docker container running smcroute (a static multicast routing daemon). By running in net=host mode it allows the container to adjust the hosts mroute tables.

Basic usages

Run the daemon

docker run -d --name smcroute --net=host adamcathersides/smcroute:latest

Run with a config file

docker run -d --name smcroute --net=host adamcathersides/smcroute:latest -f config.conf

Add a route

docker exec smcroute smcroute -a eth0 192.168.1.1 239.1.1.1 eth1

Delete a route

docker exec smcroute smcroute -r eth0 192.168.1.1 239.1.1.1 eth1

Join a mulicast group

docker exec smcroute smcroute -j eth0 239.1.1.1

Leave a mulicast group

docker exec smcroute smcroute -l eth0 239.1.1.1

Routing Not Enabled in Kernel Errors?

Not your job to help, but came across your container.
I have tried pimd, smcroute, igmpproxy and improxy in a docker container on my unifi router.

All of them generate an equivalent of:
pimd: 04:20:22.679 Cannot enable multicast routing in kernel: Protocol not available

did you ever see this, any ideas where i can start, to be clear multicast routing is absolutely enabled on the router as i can see group addresses and multicast info using ip addr and ip maddr.

No worries if you haven't seen. I logged an issue at smcroute github. This was a 'random hope' ask.
