elementary's Issues

This may be specific to your site

I haven't got this working yet in mine, but on your site you have:

<div class="tags-container" style="color: rgb(119, 119, 119); background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);">

I think you should make this rgb(118, 118, 118) but I haven't been able to find it in the source, so probably site specific.

Add details about the Gemfile

You have the following in the README "Add gem 'elementary', path: 'elementary' to your Gemfile"

But if I'm just exploring this I won't know what a Gemfile is.

I think in this case we just need

source 'https://rubygems.org'

gem 'elementary', path: 'elementary'

Excluding the ./elementary directory

You also say "Add ./elementary to exclude section of _config.yml " which if you've just created the _config.yml and there isn't already an exclude section, it would just be this, right:

exclude:
  - ./elementary

tags page not working on windows

Hello

this is the project I've been looking for, this is great work

using ruby 2.6.6p146 (2020-03-31 revision 67876)

on window 10

does not produce the tags page correctly.

cloning straight from git,
running
bundle update
bundle exec jekyll serve

The tags page produces just a single item

the number:

  • 6

which links back to

http://localhost:4000/tags#

Build Warning: Layout 'home' requested in index.markdown does not exist.

I'm starting with the simple example here https://jekyllrb.com/docs/

This is different than the project I've started on GitHub with GitHub Pages. Just trying to run this theme over the default example.

I get this error:
Build Warning: Layout 'home' requested in index.markdown does not exist.

Now I'm confused about the .md vs .markdown but the index.markdown exists. I comment out layout: home

and the error goes away, but I just get a white screen now.

It's been over a year since I've done anything with Jekyll but I've built a site with it before so I'm not totally fresh.

The page build failed for the `master` branch with the following error

I got this error from Jekyll when pushing this to Github:

The page build failed for the master branch with the following error:

The submodule registered for ./elementary could not be cloned. Make sure it's using https:// and that it's a public repo. For more information, see help.github.com/en/github/working-with-github-pages/troubleshooting-jekyll-build-errors-for-github-pages-sites#invalid-submodule.

I assume this is because "http://rubygems.org" is used rather than source "https://rubygems.org".
