I just saw this pre-commit-hook and think it is very cool!
Are you still maintaining this?
If yes: could you please update google-java-format from 1.7 to 1.9?

I want to add a verbose flag to the script that runs all executed commands support verbose flags as well (e.g. gpg --verify etc.) with a verbose flag to analyze failures.

Also, when that flag is set, I want additional echo texts to be printed to the command line to get a better tracing of what the script is currently doing.

the workaround I got is to prepend any reference to the jar with $GIT_DIR/

Sorry if this is such a dumb question.
I'm new to git hooks so I'm not sure if I'm doing it right.

Do I need to download something?

I tried to put the pre-commit file in .git/hooks directory but when I ran git commit -am "test" (sample only), it will always output
fatal: cannot run .git/hooks/pre-commit: No such file or directory

I even tried to change the permissions of the file.
May I know how to make it work?
