- Sadly, in 2023 Medium fixed the paywall by-pass trick that this apps and many others were using.
- Since I'm not an Android developer anymore and I've almost stopped reading Medium, I'm not able to mantain this app.

Medium No Thanks

Medium No Thanks is an small Android application that allows you to read any Medium article bypassing the paywall. Under the hood it is just using an Android WebView to render the Medium page.

How to install

Download the latest apk from the GitHub releases and install it. click here to download the latest version

How it works

Find an article with paywall, click to share the article and select Medium No Thanks from the sharesheet.

Extra features

• Dark mode friendly (only for Android 10 and greater)
• Keeping a list of read posts
• Notify when a new release is available

What you can't do using this app

• You won't be able to clap or comment any post, you can only read the article.

Opens blank doesn't show anything. After installing and opening is there something else I have to do to see content?

Integrate Android app links

As a feature suggestion, you could implement Android app links so it automatically opens the app when clicking on a medium.com link.

Does not work - webpage alert that cookies can't be set

This is just a suggestion that if you have time you can enable in app updates using microsoft appcenter :D

Feature Request

Is it possible to add clapping ability in there? I get it it's just a webview, but maybe if users can sign in or it can use the default medium app sign in account to clap and all.

Sometimes webview gives error net::ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS
