A dumbed-down edit of David Callé's Chameleonic Ambiance script.

Ambiance Coloreon

(Or Coloreonic Ambiance, if you prefer.)

Ambiance-Coloreon is a dumbed-down version of the lovely script by David Callé, Chameleonic-Ambiance.

All this version wants to achieve is colorize the Ambiance theme -- both the GTK selection highlights and Metacity (and Unity) close buttons -- to whatever the user wants, and then apply it.

Usage

Presently, it's command-line only, just like the original. Use it like:

./ambiance-coloreon.py fab1ed

Where fab1ed is any hexadecimal encoded color you've tastefully picked out beforehand.

I intend to provide a simple GUI utlity to make this less work. Let's see... Quickly?

Dependencies

The script itself makes use of only standard Python modules, and ImageMagick, both of which should be installed on most Linux systems.

However, since the script concerns itself with the Ambiance theme and assumes it to be installed system-wide, that too is a dependency.

Also recolor the Metacity theme.

The script currently only colorizes the GTK theme, leaving the Metacity theme nice and...orange. This should change, NAO!

Some places are still orange at Firefox

As tested at Firefox beta 13, the links are still orange at the following places:

1. Drop-down list from the url-bar
2. Preference dialog box
3. Add-ons manager
4. About dialog box etc.

A GUI utility to pick colors and apply colorized theme.

A tiny GUI program that lets the user select their custom color GUI-ly would be fabulous.

Check to see if the command-line argument is valid.

Presently, it is taken to be a hexadecimal color value without the '#' bit on good faith. And we know where too much faith takes us, don't we?
