webframe's Issues

Max height is not set on images in Dashboard page

Issue:

Unlike landing list screen, Max height is not set to images on dashboard resulting long thumbnails. Since it already has a popup with full width image, is it necessary to show the full width image in dashboard as well?

How to replicate:

  1. After logging-in, Save any long image
  2. Go to your Dashboard and you will see the issue.

And if you agree this has to be fixed, can I work on it.

Roadmap - Webframe 2.0

Hi everyone ๐Ÿ‘‹

I'm going to be working on Webframe for another week (at some point in the near future), and wanted to document the feature requests we've had so far. I'm also going to be sending an e-mail out to everyone who signed up for their feedback/ideas - so this may change. If you have ideas please comment below!

Minor updates

Mobile improvements

  • Put navigation in sidebar on mobile

UX improvements

  • Sticky header nav (only when scrolling back up!)
  • Back to top button
  • Add next / previous btns when in Modal view
  • Add flag to show if the screenshot is from behind signup page

SEO / Social improvments

  • Make each screenshot a separate page (but also keep the modal)
  • Add a share button to each image
  • Add descriptions for each category

Major updates

  • Chrome extension - would enable users to upload screens to Webframe and add a
  • Components - allow people to select interesting parts of an image to be labeled
  • Search + Categories - add search to the site, allow categories to be user submitted
  • Flows - allow screens to be grouped into logical flows (e.g. similar pages, intro screen sequences, or different screen sizes)
  • Monetization - how could we generate an income for Webframe to help support the on-going running of the site?

Chrome Extension

Hi @sourabh2k15 - I think for MVP 1.0 the Chrome Extension should do the following:

  • Capture the full page (ignoring static parts of the page)
  • Sign in - so we can associate a user with an upload
  • Directly upload images to Webframe after the screenshot completes
  • Attempt to populate info from page properties in the title - e.g. pricing, terms, etc
  • Allow the user to update the categories provided (and add a site name if it does not exist)

I used Full Page Screen Catpure to capture the original set of screenshots (it works really well) and it looks like it's open source on Github. I think that will be a good place to start!

You can read a little more about how the Webframe tech stack works here - https://1productaweek.com/webframe-launch-review/#product-dev

We don't currently have an API for uploading the images (currently they are all stored in a Google Cloud Storage bucket) - so we'll probably need to create one. I imagine that being a simple NodeJS server that simply takes the upload and pushes it into a Google Cloud Bucket (there is a NodeJS library that does that).

Let me know if you have any more thoughts or ideas on the above!
