Microsoft Dynamics 365 Announces Industry Accelerators

Dynamics 365 announced the Microsoft Power Platform, a connected app platform that unifies access to your data to enable ISVs, SIs, Partners and Customers to build intelligent, data driven, task focused business and analytic applications. Microsoft is focused on enabling a data culture where the Microsoft Power Platform acts as the glue across Dynamics 365 (CE, F&O, Talent), Office 365 (SharePoint, Teams), Power BI, Power Apps, Microsoft Flow, Azure and other 3rd party on-premise and cloud based solutions.

With the Power Platform providing a unified approach to building data driven solutions, the team is taking it one step further by introducing Industry Solution Accelerators. Accelerators are industry focused foundational components that enable ISVs and other solution providers, a way to build solutions that are based on industry standards supported and driven by Microsoft. Along with our Health Accelerator that was released during Inspire 2018, which you can read about here, we are focused on delivering accelerators for the following industries (but not limited too):

Overview of the Industry Nonprofit Accelerator

The Dynamics 365 Nonprofit Accelerator enables our partners and nonprofit developers to develop purpose-built nonprofit solutions by leveraging the Microsoft Business Applications, Modern Workplace, Azure, and Intelligence Platforms. The Nonprofit Accelerator is built on the Common Data Model for Nonprofits, an open-source data schema that reflects industry best-practices and insight across program delivery, grant and award management, constituent management, fundraising, and donation management to enable powerful interoperability to fuel greater insight and efficacy, while also providing true data transparency. Learn more The CDM for Nonprofits is designed as a data schema for vendors, partners and nonprofits to map their applications and connectors to in order to achieve cross-solution data interoperability.

It shows account: [email protected] , anyone knows if the password available anywhere in the documentation?

Trouble importing NonprofitOperationsToolkitFlows 1.1.3.5

Hi.
I've been trying to import NonprofitOperationsTookitFlows 1.1.3.5 and get an error for a missing component - new_sharedcommondataserviceforapps_ea70f which is a Connection Reference required by Planning Period - calculate Weekdays.

Thanks.

Randy

Is there a simple way to remove data

I installed the accelerator via appsource. I did not chose the option to include sample data, but there is sample data anyway. For example there are contact we have never had in the system (we have never used dataverse prior so shouldn't have any contact/accounts/etc. When first installed there is a popup that says the package doesn't contain and sample data. But this doesn't seem to be the case.

is there any way to purge the sample data easily. Would removing the solution remove the sample data?

Issue when deploying using PackageDeployer.exe

Seems there is some issues with the sample data, as I get this error when attempting to deploy using PackageDeployer.exe

Unable to parse timestamp '4/28/2020 9:31:14 AM' in data. Invalid format.

From looking at simlar cases it seems there may be an issue with the data definition xml in the source packages. However I cannot modify these I assume when using the automated tool

msnfp_amount on transaction - negative values

Hi, the design I am currently working with requires negative values in the transaction mnsfp_amount field. They want this as it is how they plan to manage reversals and corrections. The solution is configured to allow 0 as a minimum in this field - I'm rummaging through to see if allowing negative values here is going to cause any issues or not, but does anyone happen to know if changing this will have any adverse knock-on effects? Or is there a reversals/correction element of the nfp accelerator I'm not seeing?

Thanks!

Removing dependency for Sales Modules

Is it possible to alter this accelerator such that it is completely segmented from the Sales Module of Dynamics 365? It would be really great if we could implement this on the base CDS platform rather than the Dynamics 365 for Sales one.

Remove Nonprofit Accelerator

Not sure if i can get help here but I cant figure out were else to. I while back I deployed Nonprofit accelerator. This was just before the whole nonprofit cloud thing.

I did it on the default environment. I am looking for a way to role it back. From solutions center it looks like I still have the deployment, but I can't see any way to roll back from there.

Since I have done this, I have learned that its best practice to deploy this into its own environment, I am wanting to move forward and deploy Fundraising and engagement piece of nonprofit cloud. but before I do it would be nice to clean of the old deployments and any clutter it had put into our default environment.

Cannot find PackageDeployer.zip in 2.3 release assets

In the Package Deployer Guide, the first instruction is: '1. Download the “PackageDeployer” and “NFP.Accelerator.2.3.-.Package.Deployer.Solution” zips'. Should I expect to find the PackageDeployer.zip among the 2.3 release assets? Or do I need to download that elsewhere? (The other zip file is there.)

Constituent Type questions

According to the reference doc, the option set includes donor, contact, account, and organization. I am considering adding a fifth: applicant. Are these values in source control? I only see the xml definition of the option set, but no data.

Trouble installing sample data and removing it

I never chose to install the sample data, but it was installed nevertheless. I attempted to delete it from the UI but received errors about related records.

Eventually, I resorted to performing a schema-only copy to remove the data. That worked, but emptied the Constituent Type Option Set. I am concerned about bugs due to other missing data.

Instructions on how to remove sample data would have saved me considerable time. Let me know if you need more info on the install process that resulted in the sample data. It did not go smoothly.

Error installing Nonprofit accelerator in Environment

Hi,

I am the Project Manager of a Nonprofit Organization that works with PowerApps. When I try to install the Core Nonprofit Acceletaror "An unexpected error occurred, please refresh and try again".

I have created 2 tickets to Microsoft and they referred me here.

Please find here the logs.

soft credit support

We are evaluating a move from eTapestry to a D365 solution for our non-profit. We have installed the nonprofit accelerator v2 and are trying to determine how this accelerator will help us record soft credit relationships.

See this link for a review of how it is handled in the salesforce powerofus hub for a discussion of what soft credits are:
http://powerofus.force.com/s/article/NPSP-Soft-Credits-Overview

When I search the non profit accelerator for soft credit, I get a few search results, here is one:
https://github.com/microsoft/Industry-Accelerator-Nonprofit/blob/33e6ecccbe3a2b3d5a5add7ba89c717f9cb1774d/CDS.solutions/NonprofitCore/Extracts/Base/Entities/msnfp_CreditRecipient/Entity.xml that has a field labeled Soft Credit Reason

But I can't find this field in the existing nonprofit UI. I've looked on the Admin Designation page and the Transaction / Designated Credit tab and found no reference to Soft Credit.

Can someone explain how to record a soft credit? Also, how would we pull up soft credit reports?

Thanks...Steve
