No worries!

I too am a user of Obsidian — I know this doesn't solve your problem, but personally I manually copy and paste information I want to keep for the long term into Obsidian's markdown format. I think this helps with (1) only selecting the most relevant content; (2) retention of the content.

These Python packages might be helpful for you:

I haven't used either package extensively (and would be a little curious how images and other non-standard formatting might be converted into Markdown 🤔

Hope this is helpful!

I'll look into it but iirc when a Selenium browser instance is launched, it doesn't come with the usual extensions in one's usual Chrome browser.

I had previously looked into saving the HTML using Beautiful Soup but I ended up going with the Print to PDF method because the actual aesthetic of the article saved is superior.

Is there a particular reason you'd want to save as a Markdown file?

Wow, thanks for the details !!. You're right, the launched browser is without any extension.

The particular reason is that I'm a user of Obsidian. I try to put everything interesting there and the generated PDFs from my premium substack accounts are really great information.
