TLDR: Issue was that external url was being used
The container hosted on northflank was not able to DNS resolve when trying to access the mongoDB instance
Looks like the issue had to deal with the +srv modifier, which apparently provides mongodb replica data? Unsure about specifics about this issue
Fix was to use url that is not named as external, although the difference seems only to be that +srv modifier in the url
