This could probably be one of the options in the Settings tab in the form of a checkbox for users to toggle on/off
... Do we have checkboxes?

Yes, we do! There's a frame type named RiftCheckbox. And yes, an option
in the settings interface will be required. Some people might actually
want to show it in combat.
