It's a problem with the SChannel IceSSL implementation. Specifically, with the code here:

_readBuffer.b.resize(missing ? (pos + missing->cbBuffer) : (pos * 2));

It should check if cbBuffer is also > 0. Otherwise, we end up asking the transport to read 0 additional bytes which hits the assert. The read of 0 bytes with a release build works however.

I was able to reproduce this assert only with Firefox and when running the adapterDeactivation test with --all where the 2nd run with WSS fails. If I run directly the test with WSS, it doesn't fail.
