Thanks for the log. It looks like a debug log, but I don't see any IAGL info in there (other than the fact its installed). Did you recreate the issue and then upload this log? Specifically, the log should include something like:

NOTICE: IAGL:  Sending Launch Command: blah blah blah

In general, for troubleshooting a specific system, I recommend these steps.

here is the thing. if i try to load hotmario.zip via any mame latest or mess 2014 it crashes and returns to kodi.

Yes, I understand. Assuming you're using gamestarter, and you get no errors when downloading, if you select the CDI game list, and then bring up the context menu and select 'View List Settings' it will show the command IAGL sends after downloading the game. It should be:

/storage/.kodi/addons/game.retroarch/addon.sh mess2014 "%ROM_PATH%"

If you're using MESS.

If that looks correct, and the game downloads correctly, I recommend just starting Retroarch via Gamestarter, and then browsing to hotmario.zip to try and launch that. If that doesn't work, then it's an issue with Retroarch / Gamestarter. In order to troubleshoot that, you'd need some sort of log or error message to try and understand what exactly the issue is.
