I can replicate this on Linux, it doesn't seem like a MinGW issue.

What seems to be happening is that for some reason when loading a project TreeModel::Model::type() gets called on an index that doesn't hold a valid internal pointer to a TreeModel::Item.

Hum, seems like this issue is actually unrelated to the crash that I'm observing. Hold on.

@cr1901 Please try 101de5b - we had quite a bug that might've caused this - but we're not yet sure.
