Yes. It can be different forms - one with simple source select, other with select "tags" (or multi) with same sources. It also can be simple link with sourse_ids=# argument. All of that passed to SourceSearchForm::load with method getQuery where I generate and return query using yiisoft/data-db

Please check this PR. I don't understand how works with nested forms, so tests with this failed. But as an idea...

Doesn't seem to be a good idea to vary input types like that or to use inheritance. Validation should be definitive.
