As indicated by neovim/nvim-lspconfig#81 the nvim-lspconfig requires nvim v0.5.0 and because I am lazy I don't want to compile myself and instead use an appimage (which you can get from https://github.com/neovim/neovim/releases/tag/nightly) for the time being.
For convenience I moved the appimage to my ~/.local/bin
and set an alias.

Coc.vim
I don't think I want to include Coc.vim as the slogan "Make your Vim/Neovim as smart as VSCode." does not appeal to me at all. I don't want to be dependent on node, the dotfiles should be lightweight and easily portable.
LSP
- https://neovim.io/doc/user/lsp.html: built-in lsp support in nvim
- Have a quick look at Greg Hurrell
- https://github.com/dense-analysis/ale: using this for linting already and has lsp support as well.
Note: installation of language servers is obviously required. Best would be to install them globally so they only have to be installed once.
