How to read logcat without root - from 9847:
Well, one possibility is a system log viewer. F-Droid has [matlog](https://f-droid.org/en/packages/com.pluscubed.matloglibre/) which, when started on a non-rooted OS, will tell you how to provision it for just-enough-almost-root-to-read-logs. Involves having a PC connected, enable debugging in 'Droid, which may require the tap-lots-on-build-number secret handshake first, then accept that PC's fingerprint for debugging, then installing adb and ... then ... you can type in what matlog tells you on that PC.

Anyway - that "Maybe you put too many players into too small a map" message means the unspecific exception handler surrounding mapgen kicked in - as not finding start locations is the most common source. But here we want to read that exception as-is: Therefore - repro, meaning tell us all parameters. All of them. OR - logcat, where it's logged before being turned into that message.

I'm unable to reproduce the bug now, so whatever the issue was, the recent updates seem to have solved it. I'll open a new issue if it starts happening again.
