We have to start publishing maven artifacts to a public repo about oozie

Oozie currently uses http://yahoo.github.com/maven/repository to fetch Hadoop/Pig artifacts for its build. We could use the repository for publishing Oozie artifacts.

That's a possibility, however in the past folks managing our relationship with GitHub were not particularly happy about this practice. IOW, it was ok as a one-off, but it might to get difficult when we try to publish snapshots from continuous integration builds, etc.

What are your thoughts on codehaus and sonatype?

whatever public repo we end up using it has to be one that it does not require human approval to get things done once you are set up.

We already have a way of publishing artifacts at sonatype under the com.hadoop.* groupId: https://issues.sonatype.org/browse/OSSRH-603

Another option available to us is com.yahoo.oozie groupID (or anything within the com.yahoo.* for that matter): https://oss.sonatype.org/content/groups/public/com/yahoo/

YUI (the biggest OS project that Yahoo manages) uses the later.

Please clearly state your preference in the followup comments. Personally, I'm currently leaning towards com.yahoo if that would be easy enough to coordinate with YUI guys.
