ui router errors: Cannot read property 'match' of undefined about angular-material-sidemenu

@wylderhoads i ran into the same issue and ended up pulling in the code to make it a component vs directive. sorry for the raw typescript/es6, but here is basically what i did.

  bindings: {
    uiSref: '@',
    uiSrefActive: '@',
    href: '@',
    target: '@'
  },
  transclude: true,
  template: ($element, $attrs) => {
    return (
      `<md-button
              class="md-sidemenu-button"
              layout="column"
              ui-sref='${$attrs.uiSref}'
              ui-sref-active='${$attrs.uiSrefActive}'
            >

};

it's working for me with ui-router now. hope that helps.
