Hi @boly38 thanks for trying. I will try to make a real demo, but to answer:
-
In this example, all of them are Master. The idea is that anyone can control the jam. If you have 5 people playing together with the same page open, any one of them can change the key. If you wanted to have other people not be able to change the key, you could just create the same page but remove the menu.
-
Your expectation is correct. Changing one to G#m should change them all to G#m, after a few seconds. I'm not sure why you are having this issue, but would need to run the page to see.
-
There is NO demo version where the window switches randomly. You may be having another issue with either delay, or server error.
-
The jQuery Modal allows you to have a master controller without the display screens. So if you want to use that and just give other people a page without the menu, it would allow only a person with the controller to change the screen.
-
Debug simply dumps out some browser information. This is used mostly to determine the user agent on a TV screen, so set specific CSS for it.
I recommend:
-
That you uncomment the lines in JavaScript at the bottom that log the screen status and open developer tools to see the console log. This will indicate if the screen you are setting, and the target screen received from the server is the same.
-
That you look under the Network panel in the browser to see what server response is when you are setting values, as there may be a server error you are unaware of.
