I have only win2000 at the moment, where I cannot reproduce
this.
I will look for an NT box at my company.
What Python version are you using?
Are you using some sort of firewall (eg. BlackICE)?
I suggest you try the usual Windows-Problem-Solving:
a) Reboot
b) Look at network adapters/bindings/drivers.
c) Reinstall

I did the standard checks. Port 80 isn't being used on my
box. My web server isn't up and running or anything. I have
no firewall up and I am not connecting through a proxy.
Reboot and all that stuff does nothing.
I am using Active State's Python 2.1 distribution. I am
running the script from the command line so it shouldn't
have anything to do with the PyWin environment.
My adapters seem fine and all of my other network oriented
software seems to work.
Thanks,

Well, I never managed to reproduce this (on win2000 or
winXP). Either this was caused by an old redirect bug (fixed
in 1.8.14) or it was a Python bug. I set this to pending, if
there are no more infos the bug will be automatically closed
after a while.
