It's not an entirely simple bug, because simply stripping the hash would break sites that show different content based on the hashtag client-side. One solution would be to detect when the browser has scrolled to the anchor, and only scroll ourselves after that. Problems with that though: 1) there's no native browser event for that, so we'd have to hack something together, and 2) there may be no scroll at all for some pages, so we'd have to prevent listening indefinitely for such an event.

oh the bug is a bit more problematic than just the scrolling being skippy. Try to open the link in an incognito window.
