Import error while meetig all requirements about pyemd

I'm afraid I can't help much with this, since only Python 3 is officially supported.

That said, I did try to reproduce this and couldn't. It installed successfully into a new Python 2.7 environment on both OS X and Linux.

Try using a fresh, empty virtual environment with pip and setuptools updated to the latest version before running pip install pyemd.

I finally found the cause; it was due my use of anaconda. Once I removed anaconda and installed python 2.7 it worked perfectly. Thanks for the help!
