How are you running you app? using lighttpd+fastcgi? How are you specifying the reloader?
reloader is not enabled by default when the app in running with fastcgi. The reloader is intended to be used in only in development. Using it in production results in performance penalty.

Never mind ... basically I'm using webdrive to edit the files on my server. The files are timestamped according to my desktop local time. Python creates .pyc files according to the server's local time which makes them appear earlier in time and therefore they are never being reloaded!
