Hi
it would depend on where they are downloading from. The downloads are to be downloaded from the RELEASES item found at https://github.com/vqmod/vqmod/releases
I suspect some may simply be clicking the download as zip and downloading the source structure instead of the finalised version properly packaged. You are correct in that the contents from inside the platform folder need to be merged with the vqmod folder contents (the /platforms/opencart/install/index.php
file and the /platforms/opencart/xml/vqmod_opencart.xml
file are the only differences). This has been the structure since it was first released onto Google Code with the 2.0 release and has been kept for this exact reason. It wasn't possible to simply download the source as a zip as it is with github, so this issue wouldn't have arisen

Hello,
This split is having dire effects on all those who are using third party vQMod helpers like vQModerator:
https://www.opencart.com/index.php?route=extension/extension/info&extension_id=8247
because those helper apps are somehow downloading the split paths file and killing people's OpenCart installations.
I don't know if anything can be done about this, I just wanted to inform you about this consequence.
Best regards and thanks again for a wonderful OpenCart add on,

Hi
Yes I'm aware of the fantastic extension, as I own the domain that points to it (vqmoderator.com) however you'll need to contact AvanOsch regarding this issue as it's not something we are likely to change any time soon. The structure's not any different to how it has been for the last 2 years or so and while it's unfortunate that the tool isn't downloading correctly, ultimately this is going to be a smaller proportion of the userbase. The best advice would be for the tool to download the latest zip release from the releases page not the latest in the repository, as that is going to be a work in progress and could ultimately break stores
For the last comment, please ensure you download the OpenCart specific download, not the stand alone if you're wanting to integrate with OpenCart. I've just done this and as expected get all the files, including the xml and installer index.php

Hi, thank you for the discussion above. I had the same issue/question. I now have merged the mentioned files, but I cannot run the installer. I get the notice I have no permission to that path: Forbidden
" Forbidden, you don't have permission to access /opencart_ONTW/vqmod/install on this server" error 403. So I read somewhere to change the filename of .htaccess but did not help me. Can you tell me what to do?
